It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a Fox and Michael on the first Friday of the month, must be in want of more Jelly of the Month Club.
For the month of March, our jelly pick is Hero Strawberry.
Right on the label, the Hero brand makes a bold claim — that theirs is a “finest fruit tradition.” The question, then, is simple: Is Hero’s jelly truly the finest?
“Pls let me to be the judge; I are an excellent judge of jelly.”
Layla Grace was pretty madly in love with this jelly, but what did we humans think? Here’s how Hero Strawberry rated on our Jelly-Jam Quality Scale:
color: 3.5. This honestly wasn’t much to look at in the jar — its color was rather dull — but it picked up some vibrancy when spread.
flavor: 4.5. This was delicious on its own or when paired with peanut butter; it had a great balance to its sweetness.
jelly-ness: 4. It was a little thicker than our ideal, but it still spread well.
jar presentation: 4.5. The style was clean, simple, and homey.
awesomeness: 4.5. It was a delight to eat.
All in all, Hero is, indeed, a Finest Fruit Tradition that we can’t wait to enjoy all month.
