Pittsburgh Churches: First Presbyterian Downtown

Achievement: #58. Photograph 10 Pittsburgh churches

Our second church is one of the beautiful downtown churches. There are at least two churches (maybe more, but I only know the two for certain) that are wedged in between tall office buildings and shops, and while that would seem to make them appear out of place, what it really does is highlight how gorgeous their design is. While we were in the area, we got a picture of one of these churches.

This is First Presbyterian, which is the church we see the bagpipers at on New Year’s Eve!

Here’s another shot of the church from the rear. It was a beautiful day, but the angle of the church and the shadows of the buildings around it somehow made the shots not turn out that way (the sky was really, really blue).
